This device works in conjunction with the Seafrog VPS-100 Vacuum Leak Check System and Seafrogs Aluminum Alloy housings that feature a built-in vacuum system. It serves as an efficient replacement for the manual pump handle, enabling hands-free operation and ensuring a secure seal for your camera housing.

The VPS-102 requires an 18650 battery (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the battery and prepare the pump:

  1. Unscrew the bottom cap of the VPS-102 Electric Vacuum Pump.
  2. Insert one 18650 battery into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.

The VPS-102 Electric Vacuum Pump automates the vacuum leak check process. This is a significant improvement over manual pumping, which can be time-consuming and require continuous effort.

5.1. Manual Pump Operation (for comparison)

5.2. Electric Vacuum Pump Operation

  1. After attaching the VPS-102 to the housing's vacuum valve, press the power button on the pump. The LED indicator on the housing's vacuum valve will turn red, indicating that the vacuum process has started.
  2. The pump will automatically extract air from the housing. Monitor the LED indicator on the housing's vacuum valve.
  3. Once the desired vacuum level is reached and the housing is sealed, the LED indicator will change from red to green. This signifies a successful vacuum check.
  4. Allow the housing to sit for approximately 15-20 minutes with the green LED illuminated to confirm no pressure loss, indicating a perfect seal.
  5. To release the vacuum, gently press the button on the housing's vacuum valve for a few seconds until the LED turns off.
  6. Unscrew the VPS-102 Electric Vacuum Pump from the housing.
  7. Replace the protective cap or plug on the housing's vacuum valve.

  • Ensure the vacuum valve and its O-ring on the housing are clean and free from debris. Lubricate the O-ring regularly with silicone grease to maintain its sealing properties.

  • Store the pump in its protective cap to prevent dust and damage to the connector.
